Within the human body, DNA is the protein that contains the essential genetic instructions for the development of life. Everyone has a specific DNA code that informs the nature and characteristics of who they are. At Soma, we talk a lot about our mission and values as the DNA of our faith community. Our mission and values not only give us identity and purpose, but they serve as the basis for our actions and decisions.
Our mission at Soma is to be Jesus to an emerging generation of people. By that we mean that we want to embody the Gospel in who we are and what we do in such a way as to bring God's kingdom reign in people's lives and the world around us. We want to reflect the very nature and character of God by investing ourselves in people and give them opportunity to experience God's transformation in their lives.
Our mission at Soma really becomes the basis for everything we are and do. In the same way that our theological convictions guide what we believe and who we are, our core values become the basis for our individual and corporate behaviors. At Soma, our values stem from a deep understanding of the New Testament church and the way Christ-followers live as God's "sent people" into the world.
