Soma is the Greek word for “body” and for us it is a description of our desire to be the physical expression of Jesus to our city and world. As a community of Christ followers, we want to reflect the missional character of God as we seek out the “missing” among our culture and help them discover a restored relationship with their Creator.
In scripture, the church is described as the “soma” of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians 1:23; Colossians 1:24) and is a powerful description of God’s presence in his people. We want to be God’s incarnational presence to those who have questions and are looking for meaning in life. We want to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We want to BE the church (rather than go to church) and live faith in such a way that invites others into a journey of discovery.
